Rastriq / Competitor ad tracking

Competitor ad tracking, as raw data.

The four major platforms are required to publish which ads are running. We turn that into a dataset you can join, filter and load wherever you work — not into yet another dashboard you have to remember to open.

The data is already public. Using it is the hard part.

Meta, TikTok, Google and LinkedIn all run open ad libraries because regulation requires it. Anyone can look them up. Almost nobody can analyse them.

!One search at a time
The libraries are built to check a single advertiser, today. Not to answer "what did my nine competitors launch this quarter, and in which countries".
!No history of your own
When an ad stops running it drops out of view. If you didn't capture it, it never happened — and the competitive value lives precisely in the time series.
!Four different shapes
Every platform names its fields differently. Joining Meta to LinkedIn by hand is a mapping job you get to redo every time one of them changes its markup.

What an ad looks like once it stops being a screenshot

Twelve records from the four platforms, with the fields we deliver. Filter them, and click any row to see the raw JSON exactly as it comes off the source.

Structure, field names and formats are the real ones from each Actor. The LinkedIn records come from real runs; the rest use example advertisers so no invented figures are attributed to real companies.

One page per platform, because the libraries are not alike

What Meta exposes is not what LinkedIn exposes. These four pages set out what is actually in each one, limits included.

The same 15 fields, wherever they come from

We normalise all four sources onto one schema. Load a single table and compare platforms without writing a mapping layer.

Who uses this, and what for

Media buyer / performance
Before you build a campaign, look at which formats your competitor has been sustaining for months. A creative still live at day 90 is working — nobody burns budget for fun.
Meta · TikTok
Brand manager
Catch messaging shifts as they happen. If three competitors start talking about sustainability in the same month, that is a category signal, not a coincidence.
All four platforms
Competitive intelligence analyst
Rebuild a rival's launch calendar by joining start dates to countries. The geographic rollout pattern says more than any press release.
Google · LinkedIn
Agency
Walk into the new-business meeting with an analysis of the prospect's paid media and that of their three closest competitors. It costs cents and completely changes the tone of the room.

What people ask before they start

Is tracking competitor ads legal?

Yes. The Meta, TikTok, Google and LinkedIn ad libraries are public registries these platforms are required to maintain under advertising transparency rules such as the EU Digital Services Act. They are reachable without an account or credentials. We extract advertisement and advertiser attributes only — never personal data about users — and we respect each site's robots.txt directives and rate limits.

How is this different from an ad spy tool?

We don't hand you a dashboard, we hand you the dataset. An ad spy tool charges a monthly seat to look at its charts inside its interface. Here you pay per result, the data comes out as CSV or JSON, and it loads into your warehouse, your BI or your model. If you stop using us tomorrow, everything you already extracted is still yours.

How often can the data refresh?

That's your call. Every extraction is an independent run, so you can trigger it on demand, schedule it daily for a short list of competitors, or sweep an entire category weekly. Marketing teams typically run daily against direct rivals and weekly across the wider category.

Can I see ads that are no longer running?

It depends on the platform, and it's worth knowing up front. Meta keeps withdrawn commercial ads for around 90 days (seven years for political and social issue ads); LinkedIn keeps a year; Google and TikTok vary by region. Which is why the history that matters is the one you build yourself by extracting on a schedule: each run pins down a snapshot the platform will eventually delete.

What does it cost?

You pay per delivered result — not per compute hour and not per seat. Pricing runs from $0.40 per 1,000 ads on Meta to $0.50–2.00 per 1,000 on LinkedIn with full detail. Tracking ten competitors daily on one platform typically lands in the low single-digit euros per month.
